What to contact us about
- Errors and corrections: if a calculator result looks wrong, or a guide contains an out-of-date rate or a broken link, please tell us. Include the page address, the figures you entered and the result you expected, if you know it. This lets us reproduce the problem quickly. See our corrections policy for how we handle reports.
- Suggestions: ideas for new calculators or guides, or ways to make an existing page clearer, are welcome.
- Privacy requests: to exercise your rights under UK data protection law, such as asking what personal data we hold about you, email us with "Privacy request" in the subject line. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and your rights.
- Advertising and other business enquiries: please email us with details.
Reporting a calculator problem
To help us check a possible error, please include:
- the address of the page, for example the take-home pay or Stamp Duty calculator;
- every figure and option you entered;
- the result the calculator showed;
- the result you expected and, if possible, where that figure came from, such as a GOV.UK example or an HMRC calculator.
We will check the calculation against the official rules and let you know what we find.
What we cannot help with
We cannot give personal financial, tax, mortgage or legal advice, or tell you what to do in your own situation. We also cannot see or change your tax record, benefits, loans or bank accounts. For those, please contact the right organisation directly:
- for your tax code, tax bill or tax refund, contact HMRC through the GOV.UK website;
- for benefits, contact the Department for Work and Pensions or your local council through GOV.UK;
- for a loan, credit card or mortgage, contact your lender;
- for free, impartial money guidance, use MoneyHelper, which is backed by the government;
- if you are worried about debt, use the MoneyHelper debt advice locator to find free, confidential advice.
Please do not send sensitive information
Please do not email us your National Insurance number, bank details, passwords or other sensitive personal information. We do not need them to answer questions about the site, and we will never ask for them.
