How this calculator works
This calculator gives a simplified UK salary estimate using common income tax and National Insurance assumptions. It is designed for planning, not payroll. It does not model every tax code, student loan, salary sacrifice arrangement, Scottish/Welsh rates, benefits in kind or irregular bonus treatment.
Worked example
Change the default figures to match your situation, then run the calculation. For planning, test at least three scenarios: a conservative case, a likely case and a stretch case. This helps avoid relying on one optimistic number.
